Path to a PMI-SP certification

Before you apply, make sure you meet one of the following sets of PMI-SP certification requirements:

Set A requirements

Secondary degree
40 months of project scheduling experience within the last 5 years
40 hours of project scheduling education

Set B requirements

Four-year degree
24 months of project scheduling experience within the last 5 years
30 hours of project scheduling education

Set C requirements

Bachelor’s or post-graduate degree from a GAC accredited program (bachelor’s or master’s degree or global equivalent)
At least 12 months spent in the specialized area of professional project scheduling within the last five consecutive years
30 contact hours of formal education in the specialized area of project scheduling*

*PMI accepts hours spent in training for Microsoft® Project and for other scheduling tools.
